Hello, my name is Christian Stejskal. I am a storyteller, violinist and photographer, and I have created The Upper Room, a 75-minute multimedia performance based on John 13–17. I narrate these chapters faithfully and by heart, accompanied by my own photographs from Israel and Egypt, taken while travelling in the footsteps of Jesus, and by short pieces for solo violin. The performance brings the audience into the Upper Room, where Jesus washes His disciples’ feet and speaks to them about love, life in the Spirit, suffering, hope and the coming glory – before His words give way to Judas’ betrayal, the trial and the cross. Dear Church Team, My name is Christian Stejskal. I am a storyteller, violinist, and photographer, and I would like to offer your church my multimedia performance, “My Neighbourhood.” The performance tells the story of my pilgrimage on foot from Vienna, via Jerusalem, to Aksum in northern Ethiopia, and my life living among the Zabaleen – Cairo’s Christian garbage collectors – while working as a violinist at the Cairo Opera House, including during the Egyptian revolution. Over five years, I documented their lives through photography and writing. In the performance, I share seven stories of seven people from Garbage City, accompanied by my photographs and original violin music. The performance explores themes of politics, religion, revolution, pigs, garbage, friendship and love. Hello, my name is Christian Stejskal, I am a storyteller, violinist and photographer, and I have created a multimedia performance called "The Upper Room" which I would like to offer your church. Here follows a short description: The Last Supper with Jesus and His twelve disciples in the Upper Room is described by "the beloved disciple" in chapter 13-17 of the Gospel of John, after they have spent three and a half years together in life and ministry. During these three and a half years, the disciples have been walking the land of Galilee, Judea, and Samaria with the Lord. They have been sitting at His feet and listening to His teaching, and witnessed great miracles and healing.
