Hello, My name is Christian Stejskal, I am a storyteller, violinist and photographer, and I have created a multimedia performance called "The Upper Room" which I would like to offer your church. In my performance "The Upper Room" I narrate chapters 13-17 of John faithfully and by heart. I have traveled the Middle-east in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and photographed the cultural landscape in Israel and Egypt in search of visual motives, illustrating the Biblical scenes, which I display on a screen while rendering the Holy Scriptures. This, I have put together with short pieces written for solo violin. The performance lasts 75 minutes. Hello, my name is Christian Stejskal, I am a storyteller, violinist and photographer, and I have created a multimedia performance called "The Upper Room" which I would like to offer your church. Here follows a short description: The Last Supper with Jesus and His twelve disciples in the Upper Room is described by "the beloved disciple" in chapter 13-17 of the Gospel of John, after they have spent three and a half years together in life and ministry. During these three and a half years, the disciples have been walking the land of Galilee, Judea, and Samaria with the Lord. They have been sitting at His feet and listening to His teaching, and witnessed great miracles and healing. However, right before Judas leaves the Upper Room, Jesus will demonstrate loving service by washing the disciple's feet. URC staff feature in Songs of Praise

On September 13 , the Revd John Bradbury, General Secretary of the URC, and Steve Tomkins, Editor of Reform and author of Journey to the Mayflower: God’s Outlaws and the Invention of Freedom will feature on Songs of Praise on BBC One at 1.15pm . The episode will focus on the journey of the Mayflower, the English ship which took Puritans, known as the Pilgrims, from Europe to the New World, now known as the US, 400 years ago.  A year after they landed, the colonists celebrated their first harvest with the indigenous people who had saved many of the pilgrims by teaching survival and food gathering skills. That celebration was the first Thanksgiving, which now takes place every year on the last Thursday of November in the USA and other countries.
