Fwd: "THE UPPER ROOM - The Last Supper" , multimedia performance/storytelling/photography/music
Here follows a short description:
The Last Supper with Jesus and His twelve disciples in the Upper Room is described by "the beloved disciple" in chapter 13-17 of the Gospel of John, after they have spent three and a half years together in life and ministry.
During these three and a half years, the disciples have been walking the land of Galilee, Judea, and Samaria with the Lord. They have been sitting at His feet and listening to His teaching, and witnessed great miracles and healing.
However, right before Judas leaves the Upper Room, Jesus will demonstrate loving service by washing the disciple's feet.
Then, after speaking to His friends in the most intimate way about love and life in the Spirit, warning them about impending tribulation, announcing the coming glory and blessed hope, and concluding with His prayer to the Father in chapter 17, Jesus' words will finally come to an end with Judas' betrayal, His trial, and His death on the cross.
In my performance "The Upper Room" I narrate chapters 13-17 of John faithfully and by heart. I have traveled the Middle-east in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and photographed the cultural landscape in Israel and Egypt in search of visual motives, illustrating the Biblical scenes, which I display on a screen while rendering the Holy Scriptures.
This, I have put together with short pieces written for solo violin.
The performance lasts 75 minutes.
