Group Service - 16 August

Before lockdown Rev Tim had been planning a group service in August. In a recent conversation with our Moderator's secretary he was told she is still willing to go ahead.
He comments; 'It would be so nice to be able to gather together and celebrate a service even though we are clearly not out of this situation yet. We are therefore planning to hold a group service on Sunday August 16th at our church in Street.
A risk assessment has been carried out on the building and we can accommodate sufficient people. Not all of our folks will feel comfortable returning to a church and some may still be advised to shield.
In order to get an idea of how many might wish to attend please advise your Church Secretary before August 3rd.'

“THE UPPER ROOM - The Last Supper”, multimedia performance/storytelling/photography/music

Hello, I am a storyteller, violinist and photographer, and I have created a multimedia performance called "The Upper Room" which I would like to offer your church. In my performance "The Upper Room" I narrate chapters 13-17 of the Gospel of John faithfully and by heart. I have traveled the Middle-east in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and photographed the cultural landscape in Israel and Egypt in search of visual motives, illustrating the Biblical scenes, which I display on a screen while rendering the Holy Scriptures. This, I have put together with short pieces written for solo violin. The performance lasts 75 minutes. Please view the attached description for further reading. Somerton West Street Church Christmas

 At Somerton we were unable to have our planned Christmas morning service this year. In common with some other Methodist churches in the Somerset Mendip Circuit, live services have been suspended until the situation over coronavirus is clearer. Everyone is, of course, disappointed at having to close the Church doors on such an important day. Rev Tim stepped in and offered to record the service he had already prepared, and we already had much of the music available. So, at very short notice, it was all put together as an audio-only file, and the resulting service is now available here . It appears we may be in and out of different tiers of lockdown for some time to come, so this is an attempt to produce a service that would be accessible to most people. Those with internet access can listen online or download to play on a device later.
